Yu, who was heading SingPost's international business unit, says that he had refrained from making public comments "in the spirit of professionalism" but has changed his mind following the various reports in the past few days.
"I am very disappointed by the company's decision and aggrieved that the company has thought it fit to levy such allegations against me, which were wholly unnecessary."
On Dec 22, SingPost announced the termination of these three top executives for mishandling whistle-blowing reports involving work done for one of its largest customers.

Yu, who was previously with US logistics giant UPS, says that since joining SingPost in Sept 2022, he has at all times acted with "utmost professionalism" and in the best interests of the company.
"It is therefore disheartening to read about the company's decision to terminate my employment and the alleged reasons, which are without merit."

"As the company has escalated the matter despite my desire to resolve matters amicably, I am left with no option but to take affirmative steps to contest the termination of my employment and the alleged reasons, as well as the alleged disciplinary proceedings, which were neither due nor fair.
"I will also seek to enforce my legal rights and vindicate my personal reputation," says Yu.
In specific response to the whistle-blowing reports, Yu wants to "categorically" reject statements by SingPost that he was in breach of and/or was grossly negligent in his duties.
He says he had fully cooperated with the internal investigation and he is "very clear" he had duly and fully fulfilled his role in the company.
