Since 2014, ST Engineering has delivered 23 smart metro projects in Bangkok. To date, the company has deployed a range of smart metro solutions including communications systems; command, control and communications systems; passenger information systems; mobility payment solutions and PSD solutions on about 85% of Bangkok’s MRT networks.
The company’s communications system will connect various components and systems in the trains as well as stations, leveraging networking technologies for timely data transmission to facilitate efficient operations and predictive maintenance, while the SCADA system will support real-time monitoring and control of metro operations.
ST Engineering’s USS will also provide over 500 sets of full-height PSDs and more than 160 sets of half-height PSDs for the 21 underground stations and seven elevated stations on the Orange Line. PSDs serve as safety barriers between the station platform and train track, enhancing commuter safety and reducing train delays.
The contracted scopes of work have commenced and will be completed by July 2030.
