Hafary has unveiled a new gallery to showcase its catalogue of tiles and other surfacing materials. Opened on Dec 1, Hafary 5vs House is a 10,000-sq-ft space on the second floor of the conservation building at 161 Lavender Street. The new location joins Hafary’s two other showrooms in Eunos and Boon Lay.

For the new gallery, Hafary worked with design firm FARM to create an immersive experience for visitors. Known for its multidisciplinary approach to design and architecture, FARM was brought in to imbue its signature style of spaces that spark imagination and creativity. The result is a series of rooms and displays, aimed at inspiring new ways to use Hafary’s products.

“Throughout Hafary House, materials are always treated in an unusual manner, such that their individual properties and applications may be further appreciated and discovered,” says FARM.

Entering the gallery, visitors are greeted by a dazzling display of textures in neutral, natural hues. The reception counter features a mishmash of stacked tiles, creating an undulant façade that draws the eye in; we find ourselves immediately zooming in to discover the grain and finish of each component.

Looking up reveals another unique detail that FARM has introduced into the space: Where one would normally find a plain ceiling, here, straps that are typically used to bind and secure slabs have been woven to create patterns that vary as one explores the gallery.

As its name suggests, parts of Hafary House have been divided into areas that each represent a different part of a home. These have been purposefully designed to showcase natural stones, mosaics and other materials in a way that mirrors real-life applications, giving visitors a glimpse of how such materials can be applied in real-life settings. “Each living space is imagined and displayed thematically to capture the wide range of aesthetics that may suit various individuals, lifestyles and personalities,” FARM explains.

For those who have more specific ideas in mind, there are spaces allowing visitors to hone in on single themes, such as Art Deco and Nanyang. These are changing displays, so the themes will evolve over time. Describing this segment of Hafary House, FARM shares: “This thematic changing display inspires to go beyond emerging trends to create a collection of alluring yet functional spaces that discerningly blend materials together.”

When it comes to specific products, visitors to Hafary House will find no shortage of options. From Hafary’s inventory comes a curated selection of natural stones, including a display of stones from renowned manufacturer Antolini. Visitors can also find new porcelain slab collections that closely mimic their natural counterparts, as well as countertops from Marazzi and Florim, among others.

Also present in Hafary House are two miniature showrooms with products from two Hafary subsidiaries, Hafary Bathroom and Wood Culture. The former is a new venture focused on bathroom fittings, including those from European brands Zucchetti and Bernstein; it also carries Hafary’s in-house brand, Klopfen. Wood Culture, meanwhile, specialises in wood materials and flooring solutions; products here include vinyl, engineered wood, and solid hardwood, as well as newly introduced wall surface solutions.

With diverse offerings and cutting-edge design, Hafary House offers a unique experience — far beyond plainly putting products on shelves, the new gallery gives visitors a chance to interact with different materials, get inspired, and bring their ideas to life.
